Is it better to keep older appliances/cars longer to cut down on waste or to buy new energy efficient ones?

I have a 2003 Honda Civic that is fuel efficient and runs well. However, newer cars get even better gas mileage. We also have older appliances in our home that still work reasonably well, but would it be better to purchase new energy efficient models? If you could provide websites that support your answer, that would be great.

How can I install an outlet to use European appliances?

My house inspector noted in his report that the meter reads 240V. Is there a way of installing an outlet that would allow me to use European appliances and tools (possibly high wattage) without a converter?

What website shows the values of resistance, voltage, and current in certain appliances?

I need to find all 3 of those for 5 different appliances and prove the equation I = V/R. Any websites that list these specs on appliances, couldn’t find this on sites like Best Buy.
